  • The Changing Policy Landscape

    UC leadership is working to better understand how recent federal executive orders may impact our education, research, and patient care activities. The UC Office of the President has launched a website to provide resources and updates.

  • Important Update on Proposed NIH Policy Change

    Two federal judges have issued temporary restraining orders against the NIH’s planned change which seeks to cut federal funding to research institutions for facilities and administration (F&A) costs that support federally funded research.

  • February 26-28 Strike Notices

    Notification that University Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE) and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) intend to hold a UC systemwide labor action at the end of this month.

  • NIH’s Proposed Cut Remains Suspended for Now

    The National Institutes of Health’s proposed cut to the Finance and Administration (F&A) rate remains suspended for now. UCSF and UC resources are provided for updates on the federal policy landscape.

  • Our Gratitude to the UCSF Community

    Following the February 26-28, 2025, systemwide labor action, a message of gratitude to those who worked to keep UCSF and UCSF Health operating as smoothly as possible and a request that all in the UCSF community stay grounded in our PRIDE Values.

  • UCSF Celebrates International Women's Day

    All members of the UCSF community are invited to celebrate International Women's Day with over a week of events March 3-12, 2025, organized around the theme #AccelerateAction.

  • Access to University Records

    The Office of the Chancellor coordinates requests made under the California Public Records Act (CPRA) and the California Information Practices Act (CIPA) for access to or copies of University documents, including personnel and general business records. It does not apply to subpoenas (see Administrative Policy 050-18, Subpoena).  

  • UC Hiring Freeze and Financial Outlook

    Following an announcement by UC President Michael Drake, UCSF takes immediate steps to manage costs and reinforce financial stability in response to financial challenges due to proposed federal policy changes and state budget cuts.  

  • Strike Notice: April 1, 2025

    UPTE and AFSCME will hold a 24-hour strike beginning at midnight on Tuesday, April 1, and ending at 11:59 p.m. UCSF expects to sustain critical operations across the campus and health system during the strike.

  • Parking and Transit Updates

    UCSF announces upcoming changes to increase parking for our patients, allocate limited on-site parking to employees through a new permit system, and expand transit options and other alternatives.
