Overview

Farida Lada, PhD, is the interim Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at UCSF. She also serves as Chief Campus Compliance Officer.

Farida Lada, PhD, serves as interim Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at UCSF. In this role, she oversees a wide range of compliance-related matters for the campus and UCSF Health system, including clinical compliance, research integrity, financial conflicts of interest, and whistleblower and retaliation complaints. 

Lada concurrently serves as Chief Campus Compliance Officer. In this role since 2020, she has led the restructuring of the ethics, compliance, and audit governance structure, guided the governance committees, partnered with all units responsible for compliance operations, and led and managed the Office of Ethics and Compliance.  

Prior to joining UCSF, she served as the Associate University Provost for Research Administration and Compliance at the City University of New York, and the Director of Research Compliance at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. 

Lada has a PhD in Governance and Policy Analysis from Maastricht University, an MBA from the University of Louisville, and a BS in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
