Strike Activity Starting May 14

Dear UCSF Community,
At UCSF and across the UC system, we are preparing for a strike next week by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), representing Service and Patient Care Technical Units. The open-ended labor action is expected to begin on Thursday, May 14.
Patient care and safety, along with the well-being of our staff, remain our highest priorities. Teams across UCSF and UCSF Health are implementing plans to sustain essential services and maintain continuity across clinical care, research, and education.
AFSCME-represented employees make important contributions to our institution every day. The University of California continues to engage in good-faith bargaining with the union with the goal of reaching a comprehensive, multi-year agreement.
We respect employees’ right to make their voices heard through labor action, and we remain focused on our responsibility to the patients and communities who depend on us. Thank you for your continued commitment to our mission.
Sincerely,
