Dear UCSF Community,

I am pleased to share that OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise will soon launch across UCSF.

ChatGPT Enterprise is a private and secure version of ChatGPT that provides access to the latest OpenAI models and advanced features while protecting UCSF data. It includes safeguards—such as HIPAA compliance and P3/P4 data protection—enabling the UCSF community to leverage the latest AI capabilities in a private and secure manner.

Launch dates

• Tuesday, Feb. 17 – Our AI trailblazers, the more than 9,000 existing Versa Chat users, will begin receiving access
• Monday, Feb. 23 – All other members of the UCSF community with ucsf.edu accounts will be able to request access

Please watch for emails on the corresponding launch dates with access and usage details.

The UCSF Versa API will continue to provide secure API access to large language models, including those from OpenAI and Anthropic. Access to Versa Chat and the 100+ Versa Assistants will also remain available to existing Versa Chat users until further notice.
