Reminder: Nov. 1 Deadline for Flu Vaccine Policy Compliance
November 1 is the deadline to comply with UCSF’s flu vaccination policy. We strongly recommend vaccination to help protect our community.
Dear UCSF Community,
This Saturday, Nov. 1, is the deadline for compliance with UCSF’s flu vaccination policy. If you have not done so, please take the necessary steps to comply and help protect our community.
In accordance with county public health requirements, we need compliance among UCSF and UCSF Health faculty, staff, learners, and volunteers.
How to comply:
- Use the OHS Portal (MyAccess required) to submit a flu vaccination record or a declination.
- Learn about other ways to submit documentation, including through our Digital Screener or emailing [email protected].
Although you can comply by submitting a declination, we strongly encourage all employees to get a flu vaccine and reduce health risks for everyone who comes to UCSF.
To create a safer environment for patient care, education, and research, we are seeking a flu vaccination rate of 90% across our enterprise. As of this week, vaccination rates are 60% for UCSF Health employees and 56% for Campus employees.
Where to get a flu shot:
- Occupational Health Clinic locations
- UCSF Outpatient Pharmacies (walk-ins at Mission Bay or Parnassus Heights; UCSF MyChart scheduling preferred)
- Your primary care provider or local pharmacy, CVS, Walgreens, Safeway
You can find more information at the Influenza Immunization website.
As part of our efforts to reduce health risks during respiratory illness season, Nov. 1 also marks the resumption of our employee masking requirement in areas where direct patient care is provided. The masking requirement will continue through April 30, 2026.
Thank you for doing your part to protect our community.
Sincerely,
Josh Adler, MD
Chief Clinical Officer
