Upholding Our Values of Respect and Inclusion
UCSF community is reminded that every member of the University has an obligation to uphold its PRIDE Values and principles of community, without bias or regard to national origin, ethnicity, shared ancestry, race, sex, gender, or any other aspect of identity.
Dear UCSF Community,
I am writing to inform you of a serious matter involving the targeting of students on social media based on their national origin. Targeting any member of our UCSF community—especially in a way that fosters hostility or discrimination—will not be tolerated. I have taken immediate action to address this situation.
Every member of the UCSF community has an obligation to uphold our PRIDE Values and principles of community, without bias or regard to national origin, ethnicity, shared ancestry, race, sex, gender, or any other aspect of their identity. The diversity that we all bring to UCSF is one of the enduring strengths of our culture. Whatever our differences, we must always work to uphold our values of respect and inclusion.
Sincerely,
Sam Hawgood, MBBS
