Dear UCSF Community,

As we welcome the holiday season, I want to express my gratitude for your many achievements and contributions across all of our mission areas in 2023. From research to education, from the front lines of care to our operational offices, you embodied the spirit of innovation and compassion that distinguishes UCSF. Celebrate the year at UCSF.

I am looking forward to what you will accomplish in the coming year as we embrace powerful new technologies such as AI, invest in our people, and remake our physical environments in order to advance health and improve lives.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful holiday season filled with warmth and joy. May the new year bring you happiness and continued success.

Warmest wishes from my family to yours,

Sam Hawgood, MBBS
