Action Required: Monovalent COVID-19 Vaccination

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all members of the UCSF community, including employees of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, are required to obtain the latest monovalent COVID-19 vaccine or decline vaccination by March 1, 2024.

Dear UCSF Community,

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all members of the UCSF community, including employees of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, are required to obtain the latest monovalent COVID-19 vaccine or decline vaccination by March 1, 2024.

To meet the requirement and align with University of California policy, please take one of the following actions:

  • Use the Digital Screener to attest that you have received the vaccination or plan to receive it, or upload documentation of vaccination to the Occupational Health Portal (VPN required).
  • Complete a declination either through the Digital Screener or OHS Portal.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone eligible receive the monovalent COVID-19 vaccine. The World Health Organization has stated that the monovalent vaccine is effective against the JN.1 variant, which continues to rise in prevalence. CDC-approved COVID-19 vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect people from the virus, slow transmission, and reduce the likelihood of variants emerging.

Thank you for doing your part to protect our UCSF community, our patients, and the communities we serve from preventable illness.

Sincerely,

Josh Adler
Chief Clinical Officer
UCSF Health
