    Congratulations to Elizabeth Blackburn, PhD

    As many of you may know, UCSF's Elizabeth Blackburn, PhD, is in Stockholm this week participating in a series of Nobel Foundation events leading up to today's official ceremony today, at which she was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, along with her co-recipients Carol W. Greider of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Jack W. Szostak of Harvard Medical School.

    Interim Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost

    I am extremely pleased to inform you that Vice Provost Sally Marshall has agreed to serve as Interim Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost (EVCP) effective January 1, 2010, subject to Regents' approval.
