Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that, following a rigorous national search, Paul Jenny has accepted the position of UCSF Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, a role critical to supporting the infrastructure that helps advance UCSF’s mission of patient care, education, research, and community service.

Mr. Jenny, current senior vice president of planning and management at the University of Washington (UW), has extensive financial and operational experience, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of a renowned higher education institution, making him extremely well suited for the senior vice chancellor position. This move brings Mr. Jenny back into the University of California fold. He worked from 2004 – 2008 at UC Berkeley, where he served as associate vice chancellor—budget and resource planning and previously as assistant vice chancellor—budget.

Mr. Jenny’s career spans more than twenty years. During his tenure at UW, he has been directly responsible for the financial and business strategies of several areas, including finance modernization, capital building and engineering, administration transformation, and resource allocation modeling. Prior to his years at UC Berkeley, he was at the University of Alaska, the Brookings Institute, and Loyola University New Orleans.

Interim Senior Vice Chancellor Teresa Costantinidis has skillfully guided the financial and administrative services (FAS) organization during this transition period while the year-long search was being conducted.
