    Nominations for UCSF Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award

    I write to request nominations for the 2011 Martin Luther King, Jr. Award. Each year three individuals—one academic, one staff, and one student/resident/postdoctoral scholar—may be selected to receive this award in recognition of extraordinary leadership and inspiration in furthering the goal of achieving greater cultural and ethnic diversity within the UCSF community.

    Search Begins for the Vice Chancellor-Diversity and Outreach

    I am very pleased to announce that the search for the new position of the Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Outreach is now underway. Earlier this year, the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for Academic Diversity (CACAD) formed a Subcommittee on Outreach and Diversity, which was charged with developing a single, consolidated proposal for the coordination of diversity initiatives at UCSF.
