I write to invite nominations for the 2012 Chancellor’s Award for Public Service. This award recognizes and celebrates members of the campus community who have demonstrated outstanding public service beyond the scope of their normal job duties, research or training.
Three individuals—one faculty, one staff and one student/resident/postdoctoral scholar—will be selected to receive this award during the award presentation at the annual Founders Day Luncheon in the spring where friends, family and co-workers will be able to join in the celebration.
The nomination form, selection criteria and past award recipients are available online and nominations must be returned to Committees Coordinator Suya Colorado-Caldwell either electronically at email@example.com or in hard copy to Box 0402 by 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 19, 2012 and questions may be directed to her at 476-4421.
I also write to remind the campus that nominations for the 2012 Chancellor's Award for the Advancement of Women are due by 5pm on Thursday, December 15, 2011. The nomination form, selection criteria and a list of prior recipients for this award also are available online.
I hope you will take the time to nominate deserving colleagues for both of these awards.
